I love fabrics, trims, buttons and needlepoints, and have designed some of my own pieces. but I never thought to put fabric on needlepoint canvases before! I have recently discovered Orna Willis and today was the first time I really took a close look at your pieces - WOW is all I can say!
I am originally Canadian (from Montreal) and I went to F.I.T. in New York City. I hated painting but your canvases are painted with fabric and fibers! I hope that one of these days I can be as bold as you and go"outside the box"!

This site is wonderful.
I am a member of the Sun-Stitchers of Sarasota, Florida (ANG) and
took the class you gave our chapter. We had been shown a heat transfer
ink process that enabled us to tranfer a heart design to needlepoint
canvas and then you taught us to applique and embellish the canvas.
I learned so much from you that I was able to finish the piece on
my own. I enjoyed the entire process, the learning, the executing
and the completion of the piece. Thank you so much for such a wonderful
expericence.

Your work is an inspiration, even to one who has
needlepointed for 40 years. I've been "finishing" Gustav Klimt's "Emily
Floge", bought in Salzburg twelve years ago, challenged by the flesh
tones on the petit-point face and hands. Your notes on his "The
Kiss" have helped me think about returning to the project. Congratulations
on your talent.
With kind regards, Ronnie

Wow, and a Canadian site! What eye-candy!
- what inspiration! I have book-marked your site and will return often.
I am a huge fan of mixed media and embellishment. As well it really
fuels my creative "juices" to read about other's journeys on the creative
path.

I so enjoyed seeing the work of Avril
Halliday in your Guest Gallery. I hope you will also be able to
get other stitchers from the U.K. to exhibit. It is so wonderful to
see the creative ideas you have on your site.

I don't think I have ever seen more beautiful
needlepoint in my life. And I admire what you have to say about your
insight of your work. I truly look forward to any newsletters, e-mails,
anything you put out.

Wonderful website - a stitcher in New Zealand
recommended it to me - she came across our Northern Ireland Embroidery
Guild website www.nieg.org.uk
and has been corresponding since! I'm writing our next guild magazine
at the moment and I'm going to recommend everyone has a look at your
work - love the stories and details about the pieces and the wonderful

Last night I spent some time with your web site and was
so taken with "Moonshine" that I awoke today thinking about the light shining on the water.
I returned to the site and read your article on how you did the actual needlepoint and am quite fascinated.
I do 'ordinary' needlepoint and am an amateur photographer, but your
skill is truly amazing! Maybe some day, I will be adventurous enough
to try a needlepoint from one of my photos.
Regards - Solette.

Your website is such a joy and inspiration - taking
needlepoint to extraordinary heights. I look forward to all your newsletters
and hope to incorporate some of your wonderful ideas and challenges
in my own work. Please don't stop sharing your artistry with us! Thank
you!!

I am just starting out in embroidery and am keen
to experiment with different styles, modern and traditional to find
out what I really enjoy doing. I love the mix of your pieces and would
love to learn more. I ultimately want to be able to design my own
pieces and enjoy the creativity of embroidery, rather than just follow
other people's charts and ideas.
Love your work.

I have visited many times to look at your work
and the work in the Guest Galleries, and each time I find something
new to admire. The variety is astounding! Thank you for setting up
and maintaining your lovely site.

As always, your work is so opulent in terms of
colour and texture. It's absolutely wonderful. There is a great joy
in your work and it is a visual feast. I really enjoyed my visit and
your site is so well designed that even I found my way around it easily.

| Odilia - November 4th 2004 |
I love your work. I have a question for you. In
your guest gallery, does it have to be needlepoint? I am a quilting
artist and I do quilted wall hangings using quilting, applique and
embroidery.
Thanks for your query Odilia. My feelings
are that we really do need to say that the Guest Gallery exhibits
needlepoint, or pieces that have a major needlepoint component. I
do hope you will find some sites to display your pieces.
Best wishes,
Rosalyn

Oh ! how wonderful to see this example of a
rampart imagination. I have always been interested in fabric manipulation
and needlepoint, and crossstich, and, and, and . . . To see all of
these interests rolled into one!
I have even done photo transfers but not like your "Stepping Stones",
so now I have inspiration Thank You!!

I LOVE your site. I stumbled on it at about
2am when I had given up hope of ever seeing anything creative and
free and wonderful in stitchery on the web. I thought I was forever
doomed to cross stitch sites with Santas on them. Your site is wonderfully
inspirational and I thank you!!!!!

I've just discovered the wonderful joy of needlepoint
!!! Rather than do pre-designed work on a canvas, I prefer to make
my own designs. Thank you for all the help you give with your site.

Dear Rosalyn,
Every now and then the craving for things freeform, be it crochet or needlework,
takes over my online time. I'll find one good site and follow the links
while the hours pass by - as it was with your site!
Your work truly is amazing! Like a kid in a candy store, only the walls
are fabrics full of dimension and the treats are stitches made from yummy
threads. (Don't you love it that colours are so often described as foods
that make them delicious? Citrus greens and cranberry reds. Why, I even
love 'meatloaf browns'!)
I've got your site bookmarked in my Favourites and go back often just to
feast! You've become a bit of an inspiration. Someday I'm going to sit down
and create ... not follow someone else's stitching directions and ideas,
but my own. I half wonder if I'm meant to be an old lady first, filled with
a lifetime of memories waiting to be put together on canvas. In the meantime,
I just love to look at what you've done. That's my special interest in your
site and why it's one of a few I've chosen to share with others!

Orna Willis sends out a monthly update and she
included her appearance on your website. I love getting her updates
and now I have something to be even more grateful. She brought me
to your website. Your information, especially the artists of the month
is incredible-thorough and up to date. The link to Caron classes online
is an incredible gift. Living in New Jersey I have had the priveledge
of taking classes with Toni Minieri and in National Seminars spent
time with Orna. You have reconnected me with them and I am so grateful.
Thank you.

I was enthralled. I have a copy of "The
Kiss" in my bedroom (I first saw it in one of my mother's art books
when I was 4 and I fell in love with it), and often wondered if it
would be possible to interpret it with stitches. Your tapestry has
proved to me that it is possible - now I just have to get down
to it!
THANK YOU FOR THE INSPIRATION.
Shasta.

Your work is fabulous. I too, love to work with canvas, but I have
not ventured to do anything as creative as you have done. Looking at your work I am inspired
to take that next step! Often the only boundaries we face are those we put on ourselves. Thank you for the inspiration!!
Happy Stitching,
Lorene.

I teach highschool art at Thornhill Secondary School in York Region.
A few days ago I recieved a note from Marv Kauder about your website gallery. I really
enjoyed looking at your work. Your creations are wonderful. I have done lots of needlepoint
but I never made your amazing leap into mixed media work.
I am planning to offer a senior level craft course next year and hope
that we will be able to invite you to speak to the students and show
your work.

I've only started to browse your site, but felt
I had to let you know immediately what an impact your work is making!
What a wonderful display of your taste and skill. Kudos to you, and
thank you for sharing with us. Brava!!

I just finished perusing your website. It is very
attractive and your stitching is beautiful. One of the most impressive
parts of your site in my opinion, is the photographic enlargements
showing the detail of your stitches.

I just spent a wonderful half hour browsing the
web site and I am very impressed. I felt like I was on a tour of an
art gallery! Very nice work.

Thank you for inviting us to visit your website.
To neophytes like us it was a wonderful journey through your mind
and your works of art. Although your work often varies in direction
and subject matter, the constant seems to be a love of colour and
shape. You have designed your electronic gallery so that the viewer
can get as close to the work as is possible in order to satisfy intellectual
curiosity.
We think your work is wonderful. Most wonderful of all is that we
get to see the work with a personal tour and commentary by the artist
herself. We feel honoured! We will visit your gallery again very soon
and share this treasure site with many other people.
