Dianna Lysitza
Dianna Lysitza is very accomplished with needles and fiber. Not only does she needlepoint, she cross stitches beautifully and does amazing knitting.
Dianna is a member of my stitching group and I credit her with 'saving' this table at a time when it seemed about to dissolve. She brought us all back together again and we are now stronger than ever. Dianna is very modest about her talents yet she is often the one who teaches a stitch when someone can't remember how it's done. I'm especially in awe that she can do a bullion knot (which continues to elude me)!

"This first piece that I have chosen to display is "The Queen Bee and her Hive" designed by Lynne Tomlinson. It was a fun piece to work doing different stitches and enjoying the different looks using floss, ribbon and perle cotton. Stitched on coloured congress cloth, it was one of the first pieces that I tried out beads and got to embellish things with charms."

"This second piece is "Country Hutch" designed by Barbara Elmore. I fell in love with the idea that I could actually put 'real dishes' on a needlepoint, and as I collect fine china there was no question about doing this piece. This is a painted canvas (on 18 count white interlock mono canvas), and its list of supplies includes overdyed floss, broider wool, linen, watercolours, Kreinik ribbon and beads."

"My third piece is a whimsical piece inspired firstly by my admiration and awe for Rosalyn's creative canvas collage pieces. On beige 18 count interlock mono canvas, I used almost every type of thread, ribbon and bead in my stash.
Once started the piece developed a life of its own and the end result was not what I had in mind. The pictures are phototransfers of my garden and the three cats and dog that I have had the pleasure of loving."
"My interest in needlepoint began in 1993 when I took a beginners' course. Subsequently, I met a group of stitchers that have developed into friends. We have been lucky enough to expand our group and with each addition we get to share knowledge and support".
