Welcome to the exhibition of the truly elegant work
of Anna-Marie Winter.
For 'Summer Dreams', Anna-Marie used
silk and metal threads worked on a photo transferred background - it was
a class she taught at the Creative Sewing and Needlework Festival in Toronto,
Canada.

These two exquisite contemporary kimonos, are worked in a variety of silks
and metal threads on congress cloth using various techniques including layered
stitches, soft shading, brocade patterns and couching.


"Poinsettia Scrolls"
Size 8" x 8"
This gorgeous piece is a multi-media canvas embroidery worked on
18ct canvas combining the techniques of Crewel and Metal Thread embroidery
with beadwork and Pattern Darning.


"Lotus Blossoms"
overall size 8" x 10"
Finally, this lovely piece depicts delicate lotus blossoms, leaves
and grasses, intricately shaded in a combination of spun and filament silks,
bordered by a rich band of Japan gold.
Anna-Marie Winter is a Canadian teacher, designer,
lecturer and author. Past President of the Embroiderers’ Association
of Canada, Anna-Marie has authored two canvaswork correspondence courses
for EAC and has taught CyberWorkshops for the American Needlepoint Guild
and Needle Artworks. She has travelled extensively in Canada, the United
States, Bermuda and Europe conducting workshops, demonstrations and
lectures. Her designs have appeared in numerous publications and private
collections.
July 06 - update - Anna-Marie writes:
"I have
added several new CyberWorkshops and have now opened Studio
Time as a free service to my students and to those who have purchased
my retail designs. Through Studio Time I will provide individual assistance
for any of my projects, providing written advice, tips and/or visual
critiques to help with work in progress. Further details can be found
in the Classes section of my web site. I am also planning to open the Shop pages in early July."
