I am so happy to introduce you to my friend Louise Hashimoto.
I thoroughly enjoy stitching with her. Her calm presence and perfect stitches are so inspiring! Louise is the one stitcher I know who 'lays' every stitch even in basketweave! One day, looking over her shoulder to admire her work as she painstakingly worked a stitch, I commented on how beautiful her stitching is. . .
She replied, ". . . This is the back".

Louise writes: "I'm delighted to be a guest stitcher here in Rosalyn's website. My introduction to needlepointing began at the time of my retirement in 1993, when I started to take lessons.

Two years later I met Rosalyn and Judy Schwartz, in classes; since then a group of us have been stitching at the table."

"The colours in Jean Hilton's "Discovery", blending from the pale outlines to the deep jewel tones in the corner, were fun to stitch. The variety of stitches and threads in the design kept my interest peaked and I was anxious to complete each row to begin the next! This Jean Hilton design was the first in a series of three similar designs."

"Kabuki Dancer was a challenging piece for me, as was the Samurai Warrior. Working with silk and metallic threads, laying the threads to produce the beautiful sheen on the canvas was so worth while."

"Ecru Kimono is made up of over one hundred patches of ecru. It was so much fun to see the patches emerge with all the varied stitches, that I found it difficult to put the canvas down, even with all the compensation stitches!!"
