My next Guest Artist is Pat Timpanaro - and
these two pieces show her incredible sense of design, detail and color.
'Log Cabin Fever' uses two different Watercolours as the basis for stitching
four motifs based on the Log Cabin quilt pattern, giving strong contrasts
between light and dark values. The finished design is approximately 7½
x 7½ inches square.
'Triangular Trellis' is a simple laid trellis providing a contrast to many bands of pattern. The finished design is approximately 7½ x 7½ inches square. Pat Timpanaro is currently serving as Administrator of ANG's CyberWorkshop program. Pat began stitching in 1973, mainly to have something to do during boring sorority meetings. A member of the Massachusetts Chapter of ANG since 1983, Pat founded the Chapter's evening group and is currently the Chapter Treasurer. She has also served the Chapter as Newsletter Editor and Evening Social Chairman. She also belongs to EGA, where she is currently Program/Workshop Chairman of the Merrimack Valley Chapter. In 2002, Pat was made an Honorary Member of the National Academy of Needlearts (NAN). A graduate of the College of William and Mary, Pat worked for over 25 years in the computer industry as a programmer and technical writer. She enjoys all forms of needlepoint and is currently working full-time for her own company, Neon Flamingo Designs.
