Sharon Lee is an artist and designer currently living in Toronto, Canada.
After a career at University and in Graphic Design, she returned to her first love, needlework. Since the 1970s, her needlepoint designs have been inspired by oriental art, the designers of the Arts & Crafts movement, medieval manuscripts and the creatures that inhabit the hidden world beneath our feet.
Below are just two more gorgeous examples of her oriental designs which you can find, together with many more, in her website.

Sharon writes: "As each is hand painted, I can paint on any size mesh.
For example, I recently painted the dragon on 18 mesh and 12, although
my piece here was stitched on 14."
