My Studio

I was blessed to have a decaying pool cabana that I could renovate into a wonderful bright modern space for my studio.

I can look out of the wall of windows and watch snow blowing, leaves falling, rain splashing, flowers blooming, squirrels and raccoons. Every spring Mallard Ducks swoop down and take a swim in the pool. It's amazing that I get any work done!

The other features that make my studio so comfortable are: a large design wall where I can pin fabrics and threads for ideas that I want to develop; compact plastic storage boxes and drawers to hold threads and fabrics; shelving to hold my favorite resource stitching books; a radio to stay in touch with the world when I allow the interruption; a very large working table where I can keep my work in progress without having to stay neat and tidy; good lamps for cloudy days or evening work; air conditioning and heating to allow me to use this studio during all seasons.

All of this happens in a rather small space considering that I work on more than one piece at a time. Very large canvases make their home in the dining room.
