  The Tribe - in progress:

Rosalyn working on "The Tribe"   After five years of spasmodic stitching, I'm now working on this canvas for about an hour daily, and it's amazing how that 'consistency' makes such a difference.

"The Tribe" canvas is 14 mesh, and is 5' wide x 3' high.

I've progressed to stitching the middle woman's face. Beginning with the eyes I see the face coming to life!! After that I shade the contours around the eyes, the nose, mouth and outward towards the hairline, using 5 strands of silk, blending several shades in the needle.

It's awesome having life-size faces looking back at me!!

I'm working it on a very large scroll frame. My plan is to keep the finished work in view and not roll it back onto the frame, hoping this will avoid the chance of crushing.
